Whenever you are doing a transmission service replace this item! It is worth the price and it doesn't add that much more time to the job. I didn't replace this item when I upgraded my trans pan to a larger volume one and within 6 months I had a leak and couldn't figure out where it was coming from until I checked YouTube.
