This is needed for an E90 washer pump and for others that snaps into the washer pump reservoir. This thing after about a dozen years gets hard and starts to leak. Do not buy the cheap imitations off Amazon like I did or you will be doing it twice. Actually snaps into the reservoir then the pump presses tightly into it as well
