I had the engine code for knock sensor. I cleared it and it came back next day. 1998 z3. There were some other codes too regarding emissions but i decided to try knock sensor first. Seems to have been the issue. Also had worried this not being Bosch might not work so well but it does work. Glad i bought it. It was a chore to install, but that was expected.
