Customer Review
I don't know if I 'love it', but I like it because it's new.  According to the website, RM keeps about a hundred of these in stock, which should tell you something about the real need for one.  In fact, this is one of those situations where you can make a diagnosis (Audi BWT A4 2.0T, lots of noise coming from the back of the engine and only noise if you're lucky) and then check for accuracy by going to the parts supplier's website.  Stocking a hundred or so and you've nailed it.  Only stocks a few then I might think they don't sell very many and the diagnosis may be in question.  Check again.  This was obviously not the case in this situation, with all the noise and such.  Anyway, pulled that sucker apart and there were pieces of tensioner laying about and the tensioner piston was pushing directly on the chain.  Need some good tools here, especially for the Polydrive bolt holding the exhaust cam variable timing sprocket.  My knowledgeable dealership contact say it might be easier to just remove the cams instead of removing that bolt to replace the tensioner and chain, but I gave it a try and the bolt loosened and the sprocket cam off.  Also need the cam timing tools to both hold the cams in position and to loosen and tighten the bolt, which needs to be replaced each time.  Replaced the parts, fixed some oil leaks and good for another 200K.  One thing, though.  The engine driven brake vacuum pump is almost the first thing to be removed.  It's full of oil so don't turn the thing unless you have the ports covered.  Let's just say oil shoots out of that thing in all directions out to about 10 feet.  That was a really nice T-shirt I was wearing.  Anyway, replaced the chain, tensioner, sprocket bolt, gasket and O-ring on the vacuum pump to fix most of the oil leaks.  Then the cam actuator later that was also leaking.  I think I got 'em all.  Still pretty dry in there.  Finished up with an oil and filter change and back on the road again.  200K  (198+ actually) on an Audi A4.  Good luck to me.  The other parts will reference this review.
