Customer Review
(This is for the AST version - not the VW factory version.) This tool held up well in a particularly challenging situation. I had a notably stuck bolt holding the timing adjuster to the exhaust camshaft in a BWT engine (Audi 2008 2.0T), and this tool held up surprisingly well. Ultimately, the splines on the bolt all sheered off completely (I had to pull the camshaft out and drill out the bolt) but the socket was not damaged. This is compared to my experience with the VW version, where several splines on the socket sheered off and the rest of the splined section of the socket actually twisted under the force. In my experience, this is the version I'd consider purchasing first.
