Customer Review
So, I have been called upon to review this extensive purchase for RMEuro, and so, I will do that very thing.  The tech first.  These are small end pin bushing for an M50.  They're steel backed and don't need to be burnished in the technical sense, but they do need to be sized properly.  Push the old ones out, I suggest a slight bevel or chamfer on the install side of the rod so the coating doesn't peel off, line up the oil hole and push them in.  I made a brass tool that fits the bushing but is smaller than the rod bore on one end and the other end fits the smaller unfinished diameter of the new bushing, won't fit through the bore but presses the bearing flush with the rod.  One tool, two functions, about 2.5 inches long.  Works. Size the bushing properly - .0003-.0005" clearance.  Oil holes are there but I enlarged them to factory size and chamfered the pin side.  Turned out 6 nice rods.

The non-tech: I hope they don't fall out.  Never had it happen, but I hope.  You can't finish these with a wheel cylinder hone, there's just too much metal to remove for the fit, but if you use anything but a Sunnen rod hone and gauge then let me know how that works out.  In 500 miles.  Or less.  They sure are inexpensive so if you bungle the job just buy 6 more.  Didn't think I'd do another BMW engine anytime soon at this age (been doing this work for about 50 years) but I just can't stay away.  This one going in my '92 Dinan 3 with an upgrade to VANOS.  You may see it at Buttonwillow.  Might be buying 12 exhaust valves from these guys so they'll probably hammer me for a report on those, too.  Hey, they open and then they close.  I'm gettin' a jump on that one.
