This wax does what it says - it does fill in swirls to make them less visible. I have a jet black Nissan and other waxes (Collinite 845 & 915, Dodo Juice Blue Velvet, ChemGuys 50/50, Meg's Ultimate), all impart great shine, but Sonax makes the finish look creamier and therefore more reflective, which leads me to believe Sonax' claim that their wax molecules as small enough to fill-in scratch/swirl cavities. The second time I used this wax I made it a point to work the liquid both laterally, and vertically to give it the most chance to fill in the surface - working in circles may not work as efficiently. On a half-hood "test" I feel that I could see the visible difference between Sonax vs. and Meg's Ultimate Liquid. So, I now lay down Sonax Liquid Wax for a creamy reflective finish, then a day later apply Meguiar's Liquid Wax for high gloss, and hydrophobicity, then maintain with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer for superior reflections, and best-in-the-business hydrophobicity. The car looks as shiny and reflective as I can get without stepping up to a coating.
