When replacing the hose I cut the rubber tube in half and inserted a 12mm check valve to prevent any oil being sucked upwards from the oil dipstick tube. This is the only crank case vent valve hose made of rubber. I'm disappointed febi hadn't replaced the other plastic hoses with rubber or a combination of plastic fittings and rubber tubing.
